The key to good Freeview (or Digital Terrestrial) is good reception
Good reception depends on your location and the type/condition of TV Aerial

A quality digital aerial should be used - installed professionally with a digital cable run directly to the Freeview box or IDTV (TV set with built in digital)

Freeview is the current name for the UK’s Digital Terrestrial television service
Running side by side with the existing analogue service BBC1,2, ITV, Ch4 and 5 (if 5 available) which are repeated in digital.

The analogue service will be switched off soon - see Digital Switchover
The digital service will then be expanded, there are about 35+ TV channels available now Free to Air. A lot of the new channels will be subscription, the current free channels are expected to remain free along with the digital versions of BBC1,2, ITV, Ch4 and 5
